Felix Cabrera

blues, r&b

Wing Agency Artist: Felix Cabrera

Felix Cabrera is a New York City based singer, harmonicist, songwriter and arranger whose career has spanned 6 decades going back to 1968. Felix and his bands have opened up for such blues and r&b luminaries as James Brown (7 times!), Wilson Pickett, Dr. John, Bobby Blue Bland, Jr. Walker and many many others... he also has played with a variety of acts that included Honey Boy Edwards and Marty Balin.

Dion DiMucci said about Felix "Your harmonica playing is great and your singing and rhythmic approach to the vocals is wonderful". Frank John Hadley from Downbeat magazine wrote "Nobody in the North East ushers a Chicago style harmonica into lyricism with such ease" and "Cabrera, of Cuban heritage, owns a distinctive singing voice and his harp playing has a depth of character forged on influences Little Walter and James Cotton". Felix was also a great admirer of Paul Butterfield.

Felix is also one the vocalists in Jimmy Vivino's (Conan O'Brien) Black Italians and has performed with them on the Conan Show and headlined the King Biscuit Festival in Arkansas.

Felix is available as a solo act or with a full band.
